The Optimist Foundationof Greater Goulds Florida, Incorporated was established in March 1995.  The Optimist Foundation of Greater Goulds Florida, Incorporated was established as the "support organization" for the Greater Goulds Optimist Club.

The Foundation solicits and receives donations on behalf of the Greater Goulds Optimist Club in order for the Club to provide various educational, social, and cultural programs and activities to the youth in Goulds and other surrounding communities.

The Foundation was primarily established as a 501©3 corporation in order for the donations received on behalf of the Greater Goulds Optimist Club to be tax exempt for the individuals and businesses contributing funds to the Foundation.  The Greater Goulds Optimist Club is a 501©4 organization and can not receive donations that would be tax exempt for individuals and businesses.

The Optimist Foundation of Greater Goulds Florida, Incorporated is a member organization of Optimist International.  Optimist International gives annual authorization for the Optimist Foundation of Greater Goulds Florida Incorporated to continue under their umbrella.
